Abstract

The new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, which started in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China in December 2019 and declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020, as a result of the increase in the number of cases, has shown its effects in the world and our country in a short time. Consequently; to control the rapid spread of the disease, various restrictions have been applied and measures such as masks, distance, and cleaning have been taken. Many factors such as the increase in the time people spend at home, their desire to strengthen the immune system, and the anxiety caused by the pandemic have caused changes in their nutritional habits. This study is planned to determine the change in the nutritional habits of individuals during the pandemic periods. For this purpose, a questionnaire consisting of questions about dietary habits was sent to 362 individuals between the ages of 15-60 through Google Docs forms and the level of this change was evaluated. According to the results of the survey, it was determined that the number of meals of individuals increased compared to before the pandemic, they preferred packaged foods more because of their safety and they focused on the use of vitamins D and C due to their immunity-enhancing effect.
